IBA Program

The Important Bird Areas Program of BirdLife International aims to identify, monitor and protect a global network of IBAs for the conservation of the world's birds and other biodiversity. BirdLife Partners take responsibility for the IBA Program nationally, with the BirdLife Secretariat taking the lead on international aspects and in some priority non-Partner countries.

As the United States Partner of BirdLife International, the National Audubon Society administers the IBA program in the U.S. National Audubon Society’s National IBA program overview (http://www.audubon.org/bird/iba/index.html) describes the IBA program nationally and within each state.
